Very Very Versed

On Friday, Levi got a new set of tubes in his ears and his adenoids taken out. We took some pics in the pre-op area after Levi had been given some Versed to help him relax (I would've liked some as well, but they didn't offer me any). Needless to say, he was very chill. Extremely relaxed. Cuddly, smiley and chatty. It would've been very humorous if we hadn't been terribly worried about the little guy.

You can't tell from the photos, but his pupils were as big as saucers. A GREAT photo opp. :)

In this shot, Levi kept holding his puppy up close to the camera, saying "puppy says cheeeeeeeese." It was funny, even in our nervousness.

We're glad this procedure is behind us and look forward to healthy days ahead!

Saturday was another wet, nasty day in Mississippi. But the rain didn't dampen our spirits over the FIRE TRUCK PARADE!!! It was one of the coolest parades I've ever seen. And quite possibly, the loudest. Except for maybe the Orange Bowl Parade in Miami in 1993. :)

Levi was completely transfixed...

I love this pic of him and Lainey, ogling at the fire trucks as they came around the corner...sirens blaring!

This is my favorite picture from the day. I snapped this one when Levi first saw the fire trucks coming down the road. The sirens had been blowing for about 10 minutes as they made their way to Lakeshore Park. But seeing them for the first time...truly amazing. :)

Sweet Dreams and Choo Choo Trains

Levi got a new Thomas the Train toddler bed last weekend. At first, he wasn't sure about it. 'Thomas gon git me?' he asked.

We told him, no... Thomas would not get him. In fact, Thomas is SMILING. He seemed okay with that. It seems to sleep well, don't you think?

Especially with several pillows, books and stuffed animals. :)

Tiger Hill?

Okay, maybe not. But Levi and Scott had a large time playing "golf" this afternoon.

He looks so tiny on the 9th fairway...

A few practice swings with Daddy.

Readjusting our clubs.

A little slice in the front yard. Gotta get the knack of holding these things... Maybe Big Berthas for 2 year olds?

Okay, maybe not. :)

After a Long, Hot Day...

Aren't popsicles just the best? :)

Reading

Levi really loves to read. Every night we usually read several books. One of his favorites is "Eight Silly Monkeys." Here is a small clip of him reading "Monkeys," as he calls it. *Make sure to pause the blog music and turn your volume up high to hear him reading...cell phone video isn't the best quality.

Something Special

Sometimes ordinary days can become extra special when someone does something nice for another person. You know, like a special call from a friend, a free lunch, a sweet kiss from someone you love...those kinds of things.

My friend Maria made my day better by remembering my son at the recent March for Babies in our area. Thank you, Maria, Sam and Sarah for remembering Aaron. He was a special little guy.

Serious Shiloh Splashin'

Saturday morning, our family decided to try out the Splash Park at Shiloh in Brandon. We were the first ones in the gate.

At first, Levi was a little bashful about playing in the water. He decided to try sliding down the frog's tongue first. Well, about 20 times or so...

Then he ran around the park and gave himself a tour of the amenities.

He worked up the nerve to forge ahead through the squirting circles(with a little coaxing from his daddy).

Then he realized he could stomp on the the water fountains for a spewing good time.

He felt pretty good about our Splash Park experience. We hope to go back soon!
