Our New Toys!

After months of pondering deck renovations, this week we finally got Levi's "big boy" slide and climbing wall up. We don't have much of a true backyard since we live on the ninth fairway, so we decided to mount some playthings to our 5' deck. When it's all finished, I will share some more photos, but we are pleased so far(ignore the ghettofied lattice...we are replacing it). We have a gate that we can lock when the slide/wall aren't in use. Safety first. :)

Levi has enjoyed the super fast slide and climbing wall. Truth be told, we have made a few trips down and up as well. :)

Busy, Bizzy Bees

I feel like I haven't posted anything of any substance in a while. We have simply been running ragged lately. Lots of work at our jobs, yard work, house work and 'life' work has left us tired. Levi is doing great with his third set of tubes and he keeps us laughing most every day. Some recent Levi-isms include:

"Mommy, it's not your turn...it's my turn."
"Daddy, it's my turn FURST."
"Yo ho ho!!!"(not sure where the pirate influence originated)
"I not need baff...I not durty..."
"It's not bedtime, see? It's wite (light) outside!"
"Riley, you're my best fwiend..."
"Mommy, you get a wed dot...get me my wed dot pen" (red dots are like the scarlet letter at daycare)

If either of us drink any of Levi's drink or eat a bite of his food, he reaches out to desperately try to take it from our mouths. "Give it back!" Sharing food is not his strong point.

Levi is also a champion at saying his blessing before a meal. We fix our plates, sit down for the blessing and he always says "I get one bite furst, kay?" Then we say "God is great." Manipulation starts early.

His favorite song is currently "Bringing Home my Baby Bumblebee," which he sings, for the most part, in tune. We are pleased.

Levi will be turning three in October. He is already planning his party. He knows he wants a "jump" party. That's all we know for sure.

No Beach 4 Us...

On the 4th of July. (sniff, sniff). But we did have a chance to wear our swimsuits a bit. We swam in the river at Nanny and Papaw's house and looked for critters in the creek. When we got home, we celebrated independence with popsicles and sliding on the deck.

You Might Be a Redneck If...

You love how your son looks with his muscle shirt on and hat turned around backwards. :)

We love this guy!
