There's not a whole lot that creates a stir in our oldest. He's pretty level-headed most of the time and doesn't get in a hurry unless there's a cupcake or popsicle involved. However, we did learn over the weekend that the prospect of finding lots of Easter eggs lights a fire under his rear.

He and Shiloh managed to cooperate for one quick pose after returning from our egg hunting festivities on Saturday. They don't look very happy about their loot, but really they are. :)

Here's a picture documenting fast-moving Levi Hill. He scored 26 eggs at St. Marks' annual egg hunt. It was super fun. :)

After the hunt was completed, he couldn't wait to dump his basket and count his eggs. He loves to count things. I think he takes after his daddy. ;)

Shiloh's First Egg Hunt

Last year Shiloh was a bit too young for egg hunting. This year she decided to give it a go. She even posed for a pic with the Easter bunny...brother didn't even do that!

When it was time for hunting, Shiloh quickly embraced the concept with a little coaching from daddy.

She's a natural!

She even stepped up and snagged an egg before another little girl could get it. Cutthroat, maybe? I think so...

Psalm 34:18

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Three years ago today, we said goodbye to our sweet Aaron. It was not what we wanted, nor what we had prayed for so fervently along with so many others. It was a blow so terrible to us as a family...so horribly unimaginable, that we will continue to grieve the loss of our son until we are taken Home to meet him once again. However, knowing what we know about life after death...life with a Heavenly Father is unfathomably more wonderful than any earthly healing Aaron could have known.

Even the loving hand of a mother, grandmother or brother cannot compare to the joy and perfection Aaron knows now.

Though being held by his earthly father was comforting and peaceful, being held and healed by his Heavenly Father was far more wonderful than any earthly comfort he knew here.

For these reasons, though we grieve the loss of our son for ourselves, we rejoice in knowing Aaron was welcomed into Heaven to begin his eternal life three years ago today.
