On Christmas Eve...

We totally busted Santa putting together this trampoline in our backyard. In the rain. And wind. I sure hope it's there in the morning...

Nesting, Photoshop and Counting Down...

I'm not sure what "nesting" is or if I've ever experienced it. Therefore, I'm not sure if I'm experiencing any nesting tendencies that may foreshadow Baby Hill's arrival in the immediate future. Scott and I have, however, rearranged the nursery five times in the past two weeks. Maybe that is an indicator of what's to come. Nevertheless, my doctor has scheduled my induction for January 5th if I don't go into labor before then. We'll just see what shakes out, no pun intended.

I had some nifty photos I was going to post, but those will have to wait. I used my new photoshop to edit them and make them all cool-looking, but they won't load on blogger. If anybody has any advice for me on what I'm doing wrong, please share.

5 days till Christmas! 15 days till we meet Baby Hill! Woot woot!

New House

We took a family trip to Enterprise over the weekend to visit Nanny and Papaw and see the progress on their new house. Levi really enjoyed running through the walls and "hammering" with his Papaw's wrench. He wanted to climb the ladder onto the second floor, but (Levi and his mommy) had to settle for staying on ground level this time. We'll wait patiently for the real stairs to go in. :)

It was exciting to see how fast the house is going up. This was our last visit until Baby Hill's arrival since we've only got about another month to go... Next time we visit, it will be in a brand new house with a brand new brother or sister!

The Tongue

Not only does Levi like to move his tongue or stick it out while he is climbing and sliding, but he likes to use it in a lot of other ways, too. It seems like there's always an interesting conversation taking place at our house.

While riding in the car the other day, Levi announced: "Mommy, I not wike dat skewwy guy."
Me: "What scary guy?"
Levi: "That big bad whoop."
After putting up our Christmas tree, he opined: "Mommy, we need some pwesents under here."
Me: "Yes, I guess we do. What kind of presents do we need?"
Levi: "Well...some for me."
Me: "Oh, really? What kind?"
Levi: "Pwobwy some more twains."

Animals

I finally got to do a little in-camera editing of some of my pics from the Zoo. I have yet to venture out into my Adobe Photoshop, but I hope to do that in the near future. I just thought these pics turned out great. My animal subjects were really handsome...well, maybe not the alligator. Ick.

(Scott took this one...props to you, honey!).

Zoo Stuff...Without Animals

We really did see a ton of cool animals at the Audubon Zoo. However, I won't post pics of them yet. I want to tinker with some of the pics I took before I post them to make sure they are as awesome-looking as possible. In the interim, why not stay with the train theme, eh?

After we arrived in New Orleans on the Amtrak, on Saturday we took a trolley to the zoo. Once at the zoo, what should we expect to see, but...ANOTHER TRAIN. After 3 hours of putting Levi off for a train ride, we rode this one. I mean, how many train rides does one kid need, right? A LOT, apparently...

I really liked this shot of Levi and his daddy peering over the deck at the many, MANY alligators in the Louisiana swamp exhibit. Pics to follow. But, ick.

Levi riding a big statue of a lion...

Crawling on the circular bench around the elephant fountain (pics to follow)...

And just one to capture the little glimmer of fatigue we saw after we'd been there for a while. I really wished they made "pregnant mommy" sized wagons, but Scott was secretly glad they didn't. :)

New Orleans

I haven't been a very good blogger lately. I confess. We have spent most of this week recovering from our long weekend in New Orleans and all the fun we (i.e. Levi) had. :) Here are a few pics of the train ride on the way down.

Waiting patiently for the train to reach the platform...

Staring in amazement out the window while watching for more trains. :)

Still on task nearly an hour later.

And...crashing after almost 3 hours of intense, train-riding fun. And we hadn't even arrived in the Big Easy yet...!

I Love My New Camera...

It's a little confusing. Daunting, even. But I am so proud to be able to capture expressions like this.

And smiles like this.

And crazy, rotten little dogs like this.

Thank you to my sweet hubbie for caving in and getting me the D90. I'll make you proud. Promise. :)

This is how we started out our Halloween festivities on Saturday...with Levi bucking his costume. But it quickly got better, when...

we compromised on Scooby's collar. I mean, Scooby doesn't really NEED a collar, right? Right.

We ditched the hat after 50 or so trips down the slide and went on the hayride. :)

Tons of fun jumping...

And tons of fun on the slide!

Tons of Halloween fun!!!

The Big 3!

I think we have officially recovered from Levi's birthday party on Sunday. He really had a lot of fun. It was fun for us to hang out with friends and family and enjoy a pretty day with cake, a bounce house and presents!

Levi also enjoyed spending some quality down time with some of his favorite girls... :)

He tried to stare down the candle to get the flame to go out...it didn't work. So mommy helped...

Everyone enjoyed their cupcakes!

Levi had so much fun on his birthday that last night he said he wanted to have another one. I think we'll wait another year on that. ;)

Pumpkin Patch 2009

Levi has been talking about the "punkin patch" for at least two weeks now. Today, we got to go!
Levi loved riding the blue trailer behind the tractor, picking out pumpkins and seeing all the animals.

Scott had fun playing in the hay with Levi, although there was a bit of a yelling match about jumping...

Is it just me, or is it scratchy out here?

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Funnel Cake and SWIDES!

Despite being nearly three years old, Levi had never had a funnel cake until last weekend. Needless to say, he is a FAN. Anything involving bread and sugar is sure to be a hit with him...and his daddy.

The undisputed highlight of the fair last year and this year was the giant slide. Here is a pic of Scott and Levi after one trip down the green and yellow slide. All smiles...

The pink one was pretty fun, too!

If you squint really hard, you can see some smiles...

The excitement of waiting in line and anticipating the fun is almost too much!

I wish I could've gotten some great action shots, but every one I tried to get was blurry. I'm hoping there might be a new camera in my future...an anniversary/birthday/Christmas/new baby camera, perhaps? :) (Scott, if you're reading this, that's a hint!).

Carrots, Anyone?

On Sunday, the weather was finally nice enough for us to hit the fair for some fun. Levi enjoyed the midway, seeing all the pumpkins and people.

He also LOVED the petting zoo. They didn't have any pigs this year, but there were tons of hungry, friendly goats. At first, he was a little timid offering up the carrots to his new friends...

Then he decided he liked for the goats and sheep to lick the carrots out of his hand.

Thankfully, there were no teeth involved. :)

The goats had it down to an art and by the time we shared our two bags of carrots, Levi did too! Scott and I thought it was only fitting since the ONLY vegetable Levi eats is carrots!
